RCMP Charges Woman After Fire at Garnish Business

Following a lengthy investigation, Burin Peninsula RCMP arrested 41-year-old Natasha Parsons of Garnish for intentionally setting fire to a business back in November of last year.

On November 20, shortly before 9:00 a.m., Burin Peninsula RCMP was called to a fire at Senior’s Seaside Takeout and Gas Bar in Garnish. When officers arrived on scene the fire had been extinguished by the local fire department.

There was an occupied apartment attached to the business and no one was injured during the fire.

Police gathered evidence from the scene and suspected the fire was intentionally set.

Surveillance footage, which was sent for processing to the RCMP Digital Forensics Services Unit, led police to the arrest.
