RCMP arrests man in Jerseyside during residential break and enter

Police have arrested 28-year old Sherlock Stacey of St. John’s after a residential break and enter in Jerseyside.

Police received a report of a disturbance outside a residence on Blanche Street on Tuesday evening. While officers were responding to the call, they received further information that Stacey had broken into the home with the occupants inside.

After communicating with the accused, who was still inside the residence, officers entered the home and safely removed the occupants.

Stacey, who had barricaded himself inside a room, was located and was taken into custody without further incident.

He is charged with break and enter into a dwelling, mischief (damage to property), and a breach of his probation order.
