RCMP arrests impaired ATV operator in Burin #nltraffic

A 47-year-old Burin man was arrested for impaired operation of an ATV on Tuesday.

Police were on patrol in Burin and observed an ATV operating on the roadway. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, who was operating an ATV without insurance with a suspended driver’s licence, showed signs of alcohol impairment.

He failed a roadside breath test, was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were above the legal limit.

The man was released from police custody and is set to attend court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving. His licence was further suspended and he was ticketed for driving while suspended and without insurance.

The ATV was seized and impounded.
