RCMP Arrest Impaired Driver That Almost Hit a Pedestrian
A Harbour Grace man was arrested Thursday morning by Harbour Grace RCMP following a report of a vehicle almost striking a pedestrian.
At approximately 8:30 a.m., Harbour Grace RCMP received a report of a vehicle narrowly missing a pedestrian, who was walking a dog, on Water Street in Harbour Grace.
Officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, a 66-year-old man from Harbour Grace, was arrested for impaired driving, transported back to the detachment and provided breath samples that were nearly three times the legal limit.
Police seized and impounded the vehicle and suspended the man’s driver’s licence. He now faces charges of impaired driving and is set to attend court at a later date.
