Rapid Housing Initiative Announced for Happy Valley-Goose Bay

Funding has been announced for a new housing initiative in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. The announcement was made this morning with representatives from all three levels of government.

Happy Valley-Goose Bay will receive $5 million in funding. The community was selected as a recipient of the third round of the Rapid Housing Initiative’s city stream.

The town has partnered with the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation for the construction of 16 new affordable housing units. The new units will be owned by the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation and the homes will be awarded to those who are currently on the waitlist for affordable housing.
