Quebec man charged after bomb threat at Wabush Airport

A Quebec man is facing several charges after an alleged bomb threat prompted an evacuation at Wabush Airport Sunday night.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says officers responded to the airport around 8 p.m. after a man was removed from an aircraft.

The airport was then evacuated and searched. Police say the threat was determined to be unfounded.

As a result of the investigation, 30-year-old Sylvestre Brian Essimeu St-Onge Vollant has been charged with public mischief, uttering threats, causing a disturbance and breach of probation.

He was held to appear in court Monday.
