Public exams cancelled this year

Public exams will be cancelled this year for all students in the province.

The change is being made to ensure that students are assessed in a way that is reflective of both what they have learned and also the circumstances they have faced amidst the pandemic.

Over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, in lieu of standardized testing, educators have focused on student engagement and alternate means assessment.

Additionally, the future of public exams will be analyzed with a further update to be provided before the start of the next school year.
