Public asked for information on caribou poaching near Stephenville


The Resource Enforcement Division is asking the public for information following a caribou poaching and wastage incident near Stephenville.
Officials say an adult caribou was shot and left on a bog off the Black Duck Siding Resource Road sometime between September 11 and 12.
Resource Enforcement Officers are investigating the incident.
The Department of Forestry, Agriculture and Lands reminds the public that killing caribou in the area is an offence under the Wild Life Act.
Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has information about the incident is asked to contact the Resource Enforcement Division’s Stephenville Detachment at 709-649-5268.
