The Public Utilities Board has rejected Newfoundland Power's request to increase the customer's rate of 10.6 percent.

The Board directs that Newfoundland Power’s revised proposals should reflect, among other things, the Board’s findings with respect to reducing Operating Costs and a lower rate of return on equity than proposed.

The Board has directed Newfoundland Power to reduce its proposed Operating Costs by $2.0 million in 2025 and 2026.

The Board does not accept the proposed increase in the rate of return on equity from 8.5 percent to 9.85 percent and directs Newfoundland Power to file a revised rate of return on rate base reflecting a rate of return on equity of 8.6 percent.
