The province has reached a tentative agreement for the renewal of its Memorandum of Agreement with the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association.
The NLMA represents organized medicine in the province.
The agreement represents physicians’ remuneration in the province with a focus on the retention and recruitment of physicians.
Details regarding the agreement will be released when the medical association completes its ratification process.
Deputy Premier, Minister of Finance and President of Treasury Board Siobhan Coady said, “I’d like to thank the negotiating teams from government, the medical association and the health authority for reaching a tentative memorandum of agreement. Collaboration and mutual respect have been key to our deliberations – all with the goal of retaining and recruiting physicians and providing quality health care services to the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador.”
