Province releases COVID-19 guidelines for back to school

K-12 students head back to school on September 7 this year.


The department of Education says the priority for this school year will be to maintain in-person learning after COVID-19 delays over the past couple of years.


When school resumes masks will continue to be recommended. If necessary, masking requirements may be introduced at a school or regional level.


Students, teachers and staff should stay home if they become sick. Students, teachers and staff should stay up-to-date on their vaccinations.


Junior high and high school students will continue to have access to Chromebook devices.
