Province issues early road tenders to launch construction season

The provincial government says an early release of road construction tenders is helping accelerate the start of this year’s infrastructure season.

As of April 27, the province had issued 27 tenders for road work, representing an estimated $143 million in investment.

The early activity marks the earliest point in the construction season that this volume of tenders has been issued, giving contractors more time to plan and begin projects sooner.

Government officials say issuing tenders earlier in the season helps improve project scheduling, increase competition within the construction sector and deliver better value.
