Province Invests in Fall Tourism Events to Extend Season

The Provincial Government is providing funding support for two fall tourism events aimed at extending the traditional tourism season in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Tourism, Culture, Arts and Recreation Minister Andrea Barbour announced investments of $5,000 each for Applefest 2026 in Port Blandford and the 2026 Rocky Harbour Storytelling Festival through the Festivals and Events Partnership Program.
Applefest 2026 will take place from September 25 to 27 in Port Blandford, celebrating the local apple harvest with an outdoor market, entertainment and community activities.
The Rocky Harbour Storytelling Festival is scheduled for October 15 to 17 and will feature local and professional storytellers, musical performances, and sessions highlighting stories connected to the land and sea.
The province says the Festivals and Events Partnership Program and season extension initiatives are designed to strengthen tourism offerings outside the peak summer months, while supporting regional economies by attracting visitors and increasing opportunities for local businesses.
