Power Outage in Parts of Central & Western NL

4,554 customers are without power this morning on the southwest coast of Newfoundland.

Outages have been reported for:

• Codroy

• Port Aux Basques

• Isle aux Morts

• Burnt Islands, Rose Blanche-Harbour Le Cou

• TCH/Cape Ray

The power outage was reported at 4:00 am for some areas, then 5:00 am and 6:00 am. The reason for the outage is due to a loss of power supply from Newfoundland Hydro. Power should be restored by about noon. There is also a power outage affecting 744 customers in the Badger to Grand Falls - Windsor area. The reason for that outage is due to heavy wet snow in the Badger area that is causing trees to sag into power lines. Power should be restored by about noon.
