Possible Lynx Spotted in Corner Brook

On Thursday afternoon the RNC in Corner Brook received a report of a sighting of a lynx in the O’Connell Drive/Kawaja Drive area.

Police responded to the area but were unable to confirm this report.

The Department of Wildlife were notified.

If you encounter a lynx

• never approach the animal, especially if it's near a kill or with young.

• never offer it food.

• always exercise caution if you get close to released or captive-reared cougars.

• don't run, its instinct is to chase.

• if you're with others, stay together and act as a group.
