The Port au Choix Women’s Institute have recently sent off 37 gift boxes to soldiers from this province serving overseas who cannot be home for Christmas.

Jocelyn Kennedy, the president of the local Women’s Institute says that this is the 29th year for the event. This has been their biggest year yet.

The boxes contain everything from Purity products, cans of Vienna sausage, cookies, and hygiene products.

After the boxes are delivered to Canada Post, they provide free postage, send the boxes to the home base for the soldiers and from there the boxes are sent to those who are deployed.

The group receives emails back thanking them for the boxes.
