Police warning of an increase in vehicle thefts in the metro region

The RNC is investigating a rash of vehicle thefts in the metro region over the past few weeks.

Police are asking the public to store vehicle keys in secure locations inside their home or on their person with the vehicle locked when unattended.

Perpetrators are believed to be checking vehicles for access and attempting to start the vehicle in hopes that the key fob is in the vehicle.

Any suspicious activity should be reported to the police. Whether it is an unusual vehicle parked in the area, or persons accessing private property or behaving suspiciously. The RNC is reminding homeowners of the importance of securing homes, and keeping valuables out of plain view in your home or your vehicle.
