Police stop driver wanted on warrant and owing $28,000 in outstanding fines

On Friday afternoon the RNC conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Grenfell Avenue in St John’s.

Police determined that the 37-year-old male driver had $28,000 in outstanding fines and had an active warrant for his arrest.

The male driver was arrested and ticketed for driving while suspended, driving with an expired registration, driving with no insurance.

The vehicle was impounded and the accused was held for a court appearance.
