Police respond to Impaired Driver collision near a car dealership in Mount Pearl

On Sunday evening the RNC responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle collision near a car dealership in Mount Pearl.

Officers learned that a blue Mitsubishi Lancer had crashed into a small building, went over an embankment and the male driver was still trying to get the vehicle out by putting it in reverse and revving the vehicle.

The 52 year old driver was detained for suspicion of alcohol and provided two samples into the Intox EC/IR II. The first sample was recorded at 100mg of alcohol, in 100ml of BAC and the second sample obtained 90mg of alcohol in 100ml of BAC.

The male was charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80mg%, and Resisting arrest.

His vehicle was seized and he was released to appear for court.
