Police investigating after body was found in Bowring Park


St John's N.L.


June 1, 2024 Saturday Night [8:00 p.m.]

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) along with the St John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) and NL Health Services (NLHS) were called to the South Brook Trail River near McNabs Lane of Bowring Park in St John's after a body was discovered.


Emergency crews responded at first thinking it was going to be a rescue mission but after firefighters arrived and walked to the location of the body, Rescue crews quickly determined that this was not a rescue and is now confirmed a recovery mission.


The Forensic Identification Section (FIS) responded to the scene to investigate the cause of the body being found and are working close with the Office of Chief Medical Examiner to determine what happened in this incident.
