Police arrest man after hours long situation in St. John's

The RNC were called to a report of threats complaint at a home in the east end of St. John’s on Sunday afternoon. RNC officers responded and contained the scene.

After several hours, a 48-year-old man was arrested and officers were able to resolve the situation safely.

The accused was charged with assault, extortion, forcible confinement, criminal harassment, property damage and breach of a release order.
