Police arrest drunk driver after he proceeds through red light

At 1:00 a.m. this morning, the RNC were conducting patrols in the downtown area of St. John’s when a vehicle was observed proceeding through an intersection on a red light.

Officers initiated a traffic stop, and as a result of the investigation, a 41-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and driving over the legal limit.

The male was released to appear in court at a later time, and his vehicle was seized.
