In the early hours of Wednesday morning, a routine traffic stop by RNC officers escalated into a brief vehicle pursuit through the downtown area.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., officers attempted to pull over a vehicle in the city center. The driver failed to comply, fleeing the scene and prompting a police pursuit. The vehicle was quickly stopped, after which the driver and two passengers fled on foot.

All individuals were located a short time later.

The 31-year-old driver was arrested and now faces multiple charges, including dangerous operation of a conveyance, resisting arrest, and fleeing from police.

The two passengers were identified and later released without charges.
