A 19-year-old man is facing multiple charges after police responded to a disturbance involving a weapon on Kenmount Road Tuesday evening.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary says officers with Operational Patrol Services were called to a business in the area around 6:50 p.m. on October 28.
When police arrived, the suspect had already fled on foot. A K9 officer later located the man at another nearby business. Following a brief foot pursuit, the officer took the suspect safely into custody.
The man has been charged with careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon, and breach of a release order.
He was taken to the St. John’s lockup to await a court appearance.
