Personal information obtained in cyberattack

Premier Furey, Minister Haggie, and Minister Hogan, provided an update late this afternoon on the cyberattack.

They were joined by Eastern Health CEO David Diamond and the CEO of Labrador-Grenfell Health Heather Brown.

Premier Furey said that personal information and personal health information were accessed in Eastern Health and Labrador-Grenfell Health. It appears that information from Western Health was not obtained. The investigation is ongoing in the Central Health information.

There is no evidence that banking information was accessed.

Minister Hogan says that we all need to be vigilant, get a copy of your credit report, check banking to ensure nothing is abnormal. If there are issues contact the police.

Both Eastern Health and Labrador-Grenfell Health employees can avail themselves of free credit monitoring.
