Performance audit report into Nalcor to be delivered on Wednesday

Auditor General Denise Hanrahan will deliver the second of two performance audit reports on Nalcor Energy to the House of Assembly on Wednesday.

The audit was supposed to be delivered on November 7.

This is the second of two reports prepared by the Auditor General on Nalcor.

The first report was presented on October 6 of this year.

That audit concluded that Nalcor did not ensure the best use of public money. The report identified several areas where Nalcor’s policies did not align with provincial government policy and practice.

The report also identified several incidences where a lack of policy and management oversight may have led to contractors being able to take advantage of privileged information providing them with the opportunity for personal and financial gain.
