Pedestrian taken to Hospital after being struck by vehicle in Mount pearl

A pedestrian was taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Mount Pearl on Saturday night.

Firefighters from Mount Pearl fire station responded to the intersection of Ruth Avenue and Old Placentia Road in Mount Pearl at around 11:15 p.m., crews arrived to find a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

The person was treated on scene until NLHS paramedics could arrive, where they were then placed on a stretcher and transported to the Health Sciences Center. The injuries were believed not to be serious in nature. The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene.

Traffic coming down Ruth Avenue from Old Placentia Road was closed as crews attended the scene.
