Parolee Arrested in Possession of Cash, Drugs and Firearm
Deer Lake RCMP arrested 32-year-old Ricky Halfyard following a traffic stop and is charged with drug and weapons offences.
Halfyard is a Federal parolee.
Officers located a quantity of suspected cocaine and a large sum of money within the car.
Halfyard was taken into custody, with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services and officers with the RCMP Emergency Response Team and Deer Lake Detachment.
Police departed the traffic stop and went directly to Halfyard’s residence. A warrant authorized under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, that was obtained prior to the traffic stop, was executed on the home. • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• Possession of a firearm while prohibited
• Unsafe storage of a firearm
