One person was taken to hospital on Friday following a collision in the Goulds

Emergency personnel received a call on Friday for reports of a road traffic accident at the intersection of Ruby Line and Main Road, Goulds.

Firefighters from Goulds and Mount Pearl stations responded to the call. When crews arrived, a metro bus and an SUV had collided at the intersection, causing the SUV to go into a snow bank where it came to a rest. The SUV sustained significant damage, the bus sustained moderate damage as a result of the crash.

Traffic on Main Road near Ruby Line was closed and caused significant traffic delays for buses and other traffic in the area.

One person was assessed on scene where they were then placed on a stretcher and taken to hospital by Newfoundland Health Service Paramedics.
