One person was sent to hospital following a dramatic crash on Tuesday night
One person was sent to hospital following a single vehicle crash on the Outer Ring Road just East of Topsail Road on Tuesday night.
Emergency services got the call just after 10:15 p.m. on Tuesday night for a single vehicle off the Outer Ring Road just East of Topsail Road.
When emergency services arrived on scene, a single a vehicle had went off the road causing significant damage to the vehicle. Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) worked tirelessly to extricate the lone occupant from the vehicle with the use of extrication equipment.
Firefighters were able to free the occupant out of the vehicle where the person was placed on a backboard and carried up the embankment to a nearby waiting Ambulance.
Traffic on the Outer Ring Road going Eastbound was closed from Topsail Road as members of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Traffic Services and Collision Reconstruction team investigated the crash.
