A two-vehicle collision in the east-end of St. John's on Saturday night sent at least one person to the hospital.

On March 1st , at around 9:45 p.m, emergency crews were called to the Portugal Cove Road on-ramp to the Outer Ring Road westbound after 911 dispatchers received a call of a motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, Emergency personnel found a sedan and a pickup truck, which was in a nearby ditch, that had collided, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Personnel determined that one person in the truck required medical transport to the hospital, and NL Health Services (NLHS) paramedics began to on-board the individual onto a stretcher and move them to a nearby ambulance.

Traffic on Portugal Cove Road trying to head westbound on the Outer Ring Road, were unable to, due to the ramp being closed until a tow truck could remove the damaged vehicles.
