One person taken to hospital following head-on collision on Pitts Memorial Drive, Thursday evening

A head-on collision on Pitts Memorial Drive near the intersection of Hamilton Avenue, sent one driver to hospital.

The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m. when a pickup truck and a sedan collided head-on, causing significant damage to both vehicles.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, closing Pitts Memorial Drive between downtown and Killbride for approximately an hour and a half.

The driver of the sedan was transported to hospital, but injuries were not believed to be serious. Neither occupant of the pickup truck was injured.
