One person sent to hospital following two vehicle collisions in Mount Pearl on Tuesday night

One person was sent to hospital early Tuesday night following a two-vehicle rear-end collision in Mount Pearl.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Commonwealth Avenue and Sunrise Avenue at around 8:55 p.m. on Tuesday night for reports of a vehicle collision.

When firefighters arrived a rear-end collision was blocking one lane of traffic travelling towards St Andrews Avenue from Smallwood Drive, firefighters shut down both lanes travelling the same direction and one lane travelling the other direction.

One person was taken to hospital aboard an ambulance with unknown injuries. Both vehicles sustained significant to moderate damage.
