One person sent to hospital following A single-vehicle crash in Shea Heights on Friday

Firefighters with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department were called to Linegar Avenue near Shea Heights Community Centre just after 4:00 p.m. today following reports of a single-vehicle crash.


When firefighters arrived, they found that a single vehicle had collided with a house and a utility pole, causing a live wire to fall onto the road. The vehicle then came to a stop on the persons front lawn.


Firefighters tended to the person until paramedics arrived. The person was then placed on a stretcher and transported to the hospital in a nearby ambulance.


Linegar Avenue, between the two entrances to Horlick Avenue, was closed as firefighters and paramedics attended to the person inside the vehicle.


Crews from NL Power attended the scene and disconnected the live wire.


The vehicle sustained moderate to significant damage. While it is unknown if the house suffered any significant damage. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
