One person sent to hospital following two-vehicle collision in downtown St John's on Sunday

On February 16th, at around 1:45 p.m, emergency crews were called to the intersection of New Gower Street and Queen Street after 911 dispatchers received a call of a motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, Emergency personnel found a SUV and sedan that had collided, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. Personnel determined that one person in the SUV required medical transport to the hospital, and NL Health Services paramedics began to on-board the individual onto a stretcher and move them to a nearby ambulance.

Traffic heading eastbound on New Gower Street was diverted onto Queen Street, while traffic heading westbound was slowed, until a tow truck could arrive to remove the vehicles.
