One person sent to hospital after being trapped under SUV in the west-end of St. John's on Tuesday

Emergency crews responded to a reported motor vehicle accident on Parkhill Street in the west end of the city on late Tuesday afternoon.

Just before 4:20 p.m., firefighters from the St. John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) were called to a residence on Parkhill Street where a man was trapped under an SUV. Firefighters used hydraulic tools to lift the vehicle, freeing the man after approximately twenty-five minutes. He was then transported to hospital by paramedics from NL Health Services (NLHS). The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.

Traffic was temporarily disrupted on Parkhill Street between Hazelwood Crescent and Eaton Place while emergency personnel cleared the scene.
