One person was sent to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in the East-End of St. John’s on Wednesday.

At around 7:10 p.m. on Wednesday emergency services responded to a report of a vehicle vs pedestrian collision on Torbay Road at the intersection of Highland Drive.

When crews arrived a person who was walking across Torbay Road had been struck by a vehicle and was laying in the road. The person was taken to hospital with unknown injuries. The occupant (s) of the car were not injured.

Traffic at the intersection was slowed as it was placed into a four way stop. Members with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Collision Analyst team and Forensics Identification Section attended the scene to investigate the collision.
