Resource Enforcement Officers are investigating after the discovery of the remains of two caribou along an access road near St. Anthony Airport.

The animals were shot and left untouched near the two-kilometre mark of the access road approximately 250 meters from the shoulder of the road.

Now they are seeking the public’s assistance. It is an offence under the Wild Life Act to willfully or intentionally allow the flesh of wildlife taken and appropriated for food to be destroyed, wasted, or spoiled.

Investigators are encouraging persons with information or anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area during the period November 11 – 13 to contact the Resource Enforcement Division in Roddickton at 709-457-3015 or by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
