No serious injuries after driver strikes vehicle and walkway in Clarenville on Saturday afternoon

Emergency crews responded to a reported motor vehicle accident in the Clarenville SCPA parking lot on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred just after 2:00 p.m. on Memorial Drive, between Marine Drive and Bayview Road.

Upon arrival, first responders found a small sedan crashed into a wooden walkway structure. The vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage. A second vehicle, with minor damage to its driver's side door, was located nearby.

Firefighters from the Clarenville Fire Department and NL Health Services assessed the driver of the sedan for what appeared to be minor injuries. It is currently unknown if the driver required transport to the hospital.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
