No New Cases of COVID-19 in NL While Numbers Soar in Ontario

The province got through the weekend with no new cases of COVID-19.

There were no new cases on Saturday or Sunday.

As of Sunday, there were 11 active cases. 272 people have recovered from the virus and 48,658 people have been tested.

The COVID-19 outbreaks at the Methanex methanol plant and Syncrude Canada’s Aurora mine site in Alberta is also over.

COVID-19 cases continue to rise elsewhere. On Sunday there were 658 new COVID-19 cases in Ontario, the majority of which were in Toronto.

Also, about 1,500 people attended an anti-lockdown rally at Yonge and Dundas on Saturday.

Canada now had had 198,080 confirmed cases.
