Nice for most today, but stormy weather en route

Beautiful weather is expected across Newfoundland today. Highs will range from 12 to 14. Tomorrow, Friday, and Saturday will be a different story, with heavy rain and strong winds expected for many areas in eastern Newfoundland.

For the Avalon, Burin, and Connaigre Peninsulas, rainfall amounts of 70 to 100 mm are possible with wind gusts from 70 to 80 km/h. In Clarenville and vicinity, Bonavista Peninsula, and Terra Nova, rainfall amounts of 40 to 70 mm are expected. Winds will gust from 70 to 80 km/h.

Today, temperatures will warm in Labrador, with highs between 13 and 17. Showers are expected in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
