New plaque unveiled at National War Memorial

A new plaque was unveiled at the National War Memorial in St. John's commemorating its national historic significance.

Federal, Provincial, Municipal officials along with Legion members and military members were present for the event.

The National War Memorial opened on Newfoundland’s Memorial Day, July 1, in 1924.

The Memorial serves as an ongoing reminder of the sacrifices Newfoundlanders and Labradorians have made, and the lives lost or forever changed by war.
