New long-term care homes in Central nearing completion

Two new long-term care homes in central Newfoundland and one step close to reality as Central Health begins clinical orientation of its staff.

Residents will be moved into the facilities in mid to late April.

The two new 60-bed long-term care homes in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor have been under construction since 2019.

Each building has 60 resident rooms, outdoor therapy space, intergenerational play areas and accessible wandering paths.

The opening of the homes will result in 120 new long-term care beds in the province.
