New Broadband Investment in Labrador
Both the provincial and federal government is providing $22,355,503 in funding to bring high-speed Internet to more than 1,000 households in rural areas in Labrador.
The funding will be allocated to the Nunatsiavut Government for a project to bring high-speed internet to Rigolet, Postville, Makkovik, Nain, Hopedale and Natuashish. The network will be built and operated by Bell Canada.
The federal government has a goal of providing high-speed internet to 98 percent of Canadians by 2026.
