The Downtown St. John's Christmas Parade took place on Sunday. The weather was wonderful for the spectators.

Downtown St. John's says there were almost 50,000 spectators in attendance.

Gaylynne Gulliver of Downtown St. John’s said, "it was an awesome day for the Parade with light winds and clear skies. You could really feel the excitement in the air as Santa Claus returned to Downtown streets following a weather postponement last Sunday."

Over 12,000 pounds of food with a cash value of $38,520.00 was collected in aid of the Community Food Sharing Association as well as thousands in cash donations. Newfoundland Power is also matching funds collected at the Parade up to $15,000.00.
