N.L. Extends Studded Tire Deadline to May 15

The provincial government is extending the deadline for the removal of studded tires in Newfoundland and Labrador to May 15.

Under the Highway Traffic Act, studded tires are normally permitted from Nov. 1 to April 30. However, officials say the extension was granted this year due to the long-term weather forecast.

Motorists are now required to have studded tires removed by Friday, May 15.
