MUN's Student Union protests at university event

The MUN's Student Union held a protest on Friday when President Vianne Timmons delivered the 2022 Report to the Community.

The union made a pink slip addressed to President Vianne Timmons.

The group was protesting the cost of tuition and cuts at the university.

After the protest, the Chief Risk Officer threatened to remove MUNSU undergrad students from all Senate decision-making committees.

Another group unhappy with the administration is the Memorial University Faculty Association. Members have been without a collective agreement since August 2020 and have been bargaining with the university for close to a year.

The association wants the university to take "immediate steps to reach a fair and equitable deal with faculty."
