Multiple people were sent to the hospital on Sunday following a collision on the Outer Ring Road.

Emergency crews were called to the Outer Ring Road just East of Topsail Road in the Westbound lanes at around 8:00 p.m. on Sunday.

When crews arrived, two vehicles had sustained significant damage, one vehicle landing on its side in a snowy median. One report from the scene indicated the operator of the SUV was travelling east in the westbound lanes when it collided head-on with a westbound vehicle.

Multiple people were taken to the hospital as a result of the crash; it is unknown at this time if there are any serious injuries.

Traffic in both east and westbound lanes was slowed as officers with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary’s Traffic Services East team investigated the collision.
