A house fire in the centre-city of St John's on Wednesday night displaced muiltple people, but caused no injuries.
At around 9:30 p.m. Firefighters with the St John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) were called to a home on University Avenue between Curtis Place and Hatcher Street, for reports of a residential structure fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the residence, and crews quickly deployed attack lines and established a supply line to battling the reported blaze inside. Within twenty-five minutes, firefighters crews had everything under control and deployed fans to clear the home, and crews checked for remaining hotspots. The road was closed for approximately an hour, until fire crews could clear the scene.
There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
