Mount Pearl Municipal Employees on Strike

Municipal employees at the City of Mount Pearl went on strike on Wednesday evening.

CUPE 2099 has been in collective bargaining with the city since March.

The strike sent more than 200 municipal workers to the picket line.

At this time the city says summer camps will continue and all sports fields will be maintained. The Glacier and the Summit along with community centres will be closed.

Garbage collection will be reduced to a bi-weekly schedule and recycling will be suspended.

A brochure with more information will be sent to residents.
